Friendly, Expert Help to Build Your Gardening Confidence

Passion for Helping You Grow Your Garden Skills

Hello, I’m Dave — an RHS-qualified gardener and founder of Marston’s Garden Care.

Simply put, I love growing things and nurturing plants. I’m at my happiest when I can share that enjoyment with someone new—whether that’s caring for a garden on your behalf, or helping you build the confidence to get your hands in the soil yourself.

I believe gardens are at their best when they’re understood and enjoyed. For some, that means reliable, professional maintenance to keep everything looking its best. For others, it’s about learning the rhythms of their space and gaining the skills to care for it independently over time. I’m here for both.

My passion for horticulture comes from a genuine love of plants. The London Plane is a firm favourite, I’ve developed an ever-growing appreciation for ferns, and I never tire of the scent of passion flowers—they always remind me of strawberry sweets.

Before moving into horticulture, I worked in mental health within the NHS and spent time coaching junior rugby. Those experiences shaped the way I work today—they taught me the importance of patience, trust, and clear communication when helping people learn, grow, and achieve their goals.

On Sundays I can be found at Guy's Cliffe Walled garden, where I look after fruit production for a local food bank.

Today, I bring that people-focused approach together with professional horticultural training to create gardens that thrive—and clients who feel confident, capable, and connected to their outdoor space.
